PETITION TO THE FRISCO TOWN COUNCIL

Protect Frisco’s Small Businesses
A Bottle Ban is Not the Answer

As residents of Frisco and other Summit County communities, we are concerned about the proposed plastic water bottle ban under consideration by the Town Council.

This ban will harm local small businesses who depend on these sales. Our community’s restaurants, convenience and grocery stores are only just beginning to recover from the economic impact of COVID. Now is not the time to burden them by deciding which products they can and cannot sell and what consumers can and cannot buy. What’s more, this ban won’t stop people from purchasing bottled water – they will just be forced to purchase these products in other towns, further hurting our local economy.

I believe our focus should instead be on improving Frisco’s recycling systems to help our community make green choices instead of limiting our choices.

Our community works best when we work together – which is why we are asking the Town Council to make the right choice. Protect local businesses and constituents by focusing on expanding Frisco’s options – not limiting them.

Respectfully,
