With more than 2,500 local municipalities, Pennsylvania stands out for the number of local governments that are contained within our state’s borders.
While this is just one of the many features that makes our Commonwealth unique, it can also create problems for job creators that are looking to stay or move into the state. With so many local governments – each with their own taxing authority – there is the potential for local entities to target specific industries in order to obtain additional revenue; creating a confusing patchwork of taxation throughout the state and hurting our competitive edge.
